The Astute Networks^® ViSX G3™ solutions accelerate server virtualization, desktop virtualization and cloud computing infrastructures by providing data stores using performance-optimized flash rather than the capacity-optimized hard disks commonly used in virtualized storage. ViSX G3 solutions provision virtual machines with flash over Ethernet local area networks and standard iSCSI protocol using innovative Networked Performance Flash™ architecture and patented DataPump Engine™ technology.

Networked Performance Flash

Classic storage architectures are commonly used with flash memory products, yet these architectures were designed decades ago for spinning disks so they introduce compromises and limitations when used with flash. A modern alternative is needed to overcome the fundamental flaws that exist in disk-oriented architectures. Astute Networks calls it Networked Performance Flash and this innovative architecture allows full use of VMware virtualization while delivering optimum flash performance.

DataPump Engine

The DataPump Engine is a patented and unique technology that allows ViSX G3 solutions to deliver optimum flash performance to virtualized infrastructures. It provides the processing power needed to deliver performance-optimized flash to virtual machines over local area networks using minimal space, power and cooling.
