Patented technology in the DataPump Engineâ„¢ enables ViSX G3 solutions to deliver optimum performance from flash memory. Featuring an Astute Networks processor with ten RISC cores and other acceleration hardware, this powerful technology is designed to handle sustained random IO with ease. It processes network traffic, data store traffic and more to maximize virtual machine using minimal space, power and cooling.

The DataPump Engine optimizes performance by:

• Accelerating local area network traffic (TCP/IP)
• Virtualizing data store traffic (iSCSI)
• Optimizing flash performance and protection (RAID)

The DataPump Engine utilizes the Astute Networks DataPump Engine processor, custom hardware and unique software to accelerate local area network traffic (TCP/IP), virtualized data store traffic (iSCSI) and flash performance and protection (RAID) for ViSX G3 solutions. Without this technology, too much performance would be lost during the conversion of flash into virtualized data stores, the protection of data stored on flash memory and the transmission of data across local area network.
