Performance Leadership

The Caspian R1100 delivers Enterprise Class performance in an ATCA blade form factor by leveraging 10Gb iSCSI, hardware RAID and custom offload ASIC technology. Astute Networks’ TCP/IP and Storage Processor ASIC enables a combination of performance, low power consumption and virtualization features that are not available in any other ATCA storage solution. The result is a high performing iSCSI storage solution that runs fast, cool and can provide the features and performance required by emerging applications.

The system supports SAS, SATA and Solid State Drives which enables system designers to hit the desired price/performance points for a wide range of customer applications.

Density and Scalability

With the Caspian Edge Storage Architecture, server density is improved by removing Rack Mount storage and installing more servers in its place. Each Caspian R1100 Edge Storage Blade supports up to four drives per slot. The addition of an optional Caspian E1112 Edge Storage RTM increases density to six drives per slot, enabling you to scale 50% more storage capacity without using an additional ATCA slot.

Deployment Simplicity

The Caspian R1100 offers an easily deployed, managed and scalable RAID storage infrastructure that uses the same easy-to-use management interface regardless of capacity and performance point. The Caspian R1100 and Caspian E1112 can be installed in any ATCA-compliant shelf--from a compact 2-slot chassis to 13U/14 slot implementations. Bottom line: OEMs and NEPS now have a simple, flexible platform to deliver a true storage-on-demand solution that is easy to deploy, scale and maintain.

Open Architecture

Built on open standards such as iSCSI, Ethernet and SNMP and compatible with leading Carrier Grade operating systems such as Windows, Linux and Solaris, the Caspian R1100 and Caspian E1112 have been designed from the ground up for demanding Edge Storage deployments.
