Who created the DataPump Engine?

Astute Networks invented the DataPump Engine and introduced the second-generation design as part of the ViSX G3 solutions during the summer of 2011.

What is the DataPump Engine?

The DataPump Engine is a patented and unique technology that allows ViSX G3 solutions to deliver optimum flash performance to virtualized infrastructures. Without the DataPump Engine, too much performance is lost during the conversion of flash memory into Networked Performance Flash.

Why is the DataPump Engine needed?

The DataPump Engine provides the processing power required to deliver performance-optimized flash using very little space, power and cooling. Without this technology, it would not be possible for ViSX G3 solutions to deliver such high levels of performance.

How does the DataPump Engine accelerate ViSX G3 performance?

The Astute Networks DataPump Engine accelerates network traffic (TCP/IP), virtualized storage traffic (iSCSI) and flash performance plus protection (RAID) using our patented DataPump Engine processor, custom hardware and unique software to deliver optimum ViSX G3 solution performance. Without this technology too much performance would be lost during the conversion of flash into virtualized data stores for virtual machines.
